I started learning about clay in a community ceramics class in 2016. I had avoided 3D all through college as I felt working in more than one plane would be too hard. In fact I found that my brain was happy to contemplate the problem of 3 dimensions, and that I could be so much more descriptive of a subject. Often when sculpting an animal, I rely on what I learned from studying anatomy in scientific illustration.
